Hourly work limits

State law sets hourly work limits for students working at the University of Iowa. Students are restricted to twenty hours per week during school year, and 40 hours during breaks. If a student is working more than forty hours in a given week, they may be subject to overtime charges. These costs are not covered by Work Study dollars. Hourly work limits will depend on how many Work-Study Dollars a student gets each week.
